Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome, I hope that you will enjoy viewing this website which gives a flavour of what our school can offer your child.
We are a successful, welcoming and friendly school in the heart of rural Lincolnshire in close proximity to the Humber Estuary. Our school community has enthusiastic children that are confident and well behaved. At Alkborough Primary School we believe that every child really does matter and the children enjoy learning in a safe, happy, caring and stimulating environment.
We have an enthusiastic team of teaching and non-teaching staff who work hard in partnership with our children, parents/carers and governors. It is our aim to work together to develop lively, enquiring and imaginative learners. We acknowledge that parents play a key role in their child’s learning and aim to build on that foundation and we encourage positive and supportive communication to this effect.
We provide an interesting, differentiated and challenging curriculum to develop children’s confidence and determination to achieve the highest of standards in all aspects of their work and we celebrate success and achievement at all levels.
Our small class sizes offer excellent pupil to teacher ratios.
The history of our school:
Alkborough Primary School was built in 1874 and has now served the village and surrounding areas for 134 years. Extensive rebuilding took place in the year 2000 and whilst retaining our village school characteristics we now have one of the most attractive, purpose built buildings in the country.
Our school has attractive gardens at the front of the school adjoining the playground area, whilst at the rear there is an area that is used for nature study and also acts as our conservation area.
The school has a large sports field behind the nature area and this is used for school sports and other school events.
We warmly invite you to come and visit us to see our school community at work and to experience the warm and friendly atmosphere within our school for yourself. We look forward to meeting you.
